As someone who's a lore buff, I'd rather Ubisoft go all in on the historical fantasy aspect instead of something that'd just be stagnant retread of older games.

That being said, I do agree with you to an extent. The reason the fantastical elements of the older games worked so well was because they were used sparingly or infrequently enough that they retained a sense of impact. Making it appear every five minutes would take away some of its appeal.

In my opinion, you bring back some of the more philosophical debate aspects of the older Assassins Creed games in regard to Freedom and Tyranny instead of treating like a foregone conclusion in Odyssey, the gameplay systems present in Odyssey would be freaking amazing in a Viking setting.
